This face is made of those in Allie’s life. The Chin divot and dimple are her father’s and brother’s. The eyes are hers, but the eyebrows that sit over them belong to my sister. The lips are from her mother and the nose is from the woman that raised her.
Apathy and Bemused

My first commissioned piece, “For Allie” was for my self proclaimed sister, Allie. My earlier iterations, "Apathy", 2019 and "Bemused" 2022, were faces that looked both realistic and incorrect at the same time. You see familiarity in the layout but it’s still not something you’ve seen before and feels uneasy.
